Q might be celebrating its 30th birthday with a special issue – out now in print and on digital – but Kasabian are clearly having the biggest party of 2016 it seems.
With the band’s beloved Leicester City winning the Premier League – and the band playing two celebration shows at the team's King Power Stadium at the weekend (28-29 May), guitarist and songwriter Sergio Pizzorno adimts football success this year has some what trumped the band’s highlights.
“As a musician it’s a toss up between [2014 homecoming show] Victoria Park and headlining Glastonbury,” he tells Q’s Chris Catchpole of his best musical moments of the last 30 years.
“But if we’re allowed to have Leicester winning the title and us playing [the band announced a special, hastily organised concert at the team’s home ground the week Leicester won the league] it’s got to be that. You don’t win the Premiership the way we’ve just done it and then three weeks later have a gig there – someone is taking the piss!"
