Speaking to Tom Doyle in our new issue, Q340 out now in print and on digital, the guitarist hails the former White Stripe’s vision.
“Jack White is an extraordinary person because he’s like a three-dimensional chess player. He thinks so far ahead,” declares Page, before responding to Q’s suggestion that the Dead Weather leader is trying to be "both Page and Plant at the same time".
“Woah,” he laughs. “But he’s more successful than they are ’cos he keeps doing repeat performances...”
Page also praises Arctic Monkeys, explaining he first heard them “you could tell that they took a lot of trouble over what they were doing, shaping their songs.”
