Our new issue, Q347, is out tomorrow (28 April) and features a 21-page special section on by Blur... by Blur!
Tracing their history through a series of photographs, many previously unseen, Graham Coxon and Alex James recall the journey that's lead them to split reunite, and now return with their eighth studio album The Magic Whip.
You can get the new Q for the full special section in print and on digital tomorrow, but with the new record out today (27), Coxon and James have picked their favourite moments from The Magic Whip – plus listen to the album in full below.
"For the melancholy I like Thought I Was A Spaceman. I love how that builds. It’s a still pretty My Bloody Valentine-influenced piece of guitar, the chords change only slightly and there a bit of emotional tug but then up goes the old rocket, if you know what I mean? I think there’s just a sexy build in that song. I’m really pleased how it turned out."
"I love New World Towers. That bit after the first chorus – I’m so proud of that! I like Mirrorball and Pyongyang is fucking awesome live. I’m still getting to know the album, but it’s lovely to be making a noise again."
