Talking in an in the studio report in our new issue, Q337 which is out today, the singer explains that beginning a solo career was instrumental in getting over the group.
“Doing the right thing is usually the hardest thing,” Way explains. “I was the most depressed I’ve been in my whole life.”
The MCR man admits that writing music for his solo record, which is due out later this year, helped him get over the break.
“I realised this was the therapy that helped get me through it [the split], but I’d written an album by then!” he laughs.
