Foals say Noel Gallagher is very “astute” despite having been on one of his famous lashings. Taking part Cash For Questions this month – get our issue now for the full interview – the Oxford band are asked to comment on the former Oasis man’s assertion that: “You're not seriously telling me that anyone is going to be listening to Foals in 12 years? I don’t fucking think so.”
“Very astute!” laughs Foal’s Edwin Congreave of the assessment, while frontman Yannis Philippakis tells Q’s Paul Stokes that it's their contemporaries who should fear Gallagher’s withering view of modern music more.
“He [also] said that our album was one of his favourite new records of recent times,” clarifies the singer. “So it’s a more damming criticism of every other bit of music then us. If no one is listening to us in 12 years, everyone else is not getting listened to in two!”
