Damon Albarn has spoken exclusively to Q for in our new issue Q334 - out today (25 March).
Interviewed in the cover story, the Blur frontman talks through his past, his influences and looks ahead to his future discussing forthcoming solo album Everyday Robots.
“Expressing yourself creatively is massively useful in a crisis, I recommend it,” suggest album Albarn of music's place in his life, but insists his decision to ‘go solo’ is not the result of any midlife crisis.
“I’m really very happy and I was very happen when recording it!” declares the 46 year-old of the album. “I may still have a midlife crisis, but God, how would I tell the difference from all the others [crises]?”
The story also sees Albarn exploring his childhood, his moves from east London to Essex, his school days, plus a frank look back at his excesses and his life now.
