Following on from their tiny London club show under the Westway at the weekend, Blur have unveiled yet another cut from their new album The Magic Whip which is out next month. Lonesome Street is a track that’s undeniably Blur. Crunchy guitar chords marry Damon Albarn’s trademark vocals and throw the track straight back to 1995. And that’s a good thing. Meanwhile the band have been confirmed to headline this year's Isle Of Wight Festival (11-14 June).

Zayn Malik’s departure from One Direction was easily the most talked about music news story of the past seven days. Inspiring some similar to scenarios of those that took place surrounding Take That’s initial break-up, with plenty of fans taking to Twitter to convey their woe. The exact reasons for Malik’s departure are as-of-yet unconfirmed, but it is known that the remaining band members are set to carry on as a four-piece. Here's The 1975 covering the boys...

At the tail end of last week, Nile Rodgers caused his very own media storm by premiering a brand new CHIC! video. Never one to disappoint, Rodgers’ classic disco compositional traits are stamped all over I’ll Be There. Featuring his trademark skittering guitar chords, a deeply funky bass line and, of course, a gargantuan chorus that seems set to take over the airwaves for the majority of the impending summertime. Plus get the new issue of Q, out Tuesday (31 March), for our Cash For Questions interview with Rodgers.

Having reunited back in 2012 in order to embark upon a huge global tour as well as releasing their 19th studio album – 13 – iconic metal band Black Sabbath have announced plans for one final show. Set to take place on November 22nd as a headline performance at this year’s Ozzfest in Japan, the show will mark the band’s very last live performance as Black Sabbath. It is as-of-yet unknown whether original drummer Bill Ward – who sat out the recent dates after a dispute – will be joining the line up for this farewell show.

Jonathan’s Pick of the Week Although we’re still yet to hear of any new music from The xx, not to mention the release of the outfit’s third album, we’ve found out that Jamie xx’s long-awaited debut solo album is set to feature collaborations with both band mates – Romy Madley-Croft and Oliver Sim. Sharing the album’s tracklist via his Instagram feed, In Colour will be released in June, but until then, here’s a new track from the album that features guest vocals from Madley-Croft.
