With Latitude Festival confirming its final 2014 headliner is The Black Keys this evening (6 March), the Suffolk festival is really starting to take shape. With Mogwai, Kelis, The Afghan Whigs, Tinariwen, The War On Drugs and SOHN joining previously announced headliners Damon Albarn and Two Door Cinema, we asked organiser Melvin Benn to make us a Playlist of what to expect between 17 and 20 July.
Damon Albarn - Everyday Robots "I can't stop playing it. It's already making me dream of Saturday night in front of the main stage. He is the man and we are privileged to have him headline."
James - Sit Down "I don't listen to a lot of older music, but this is perfect and it reminds me of one of my most joyous festival moments: watching them in the pouring rain at Reading 1991 and listening to this. Total happiness!"
Bombay Bicycle Club - Carry Me "It's everything that a Latitude song should be. They are everything that a Latitude band should be. The Saturday night will be very special."
Agnes Obel - Riverside "If this doesn't transport you to the world we all want to live in nothing will. She will be the superstar of the festival."
The Busy Twist - Labadi Warrior "It's not out until the end of March but I have a privileged first copy. It's amazing and late at night the i Arena will dance and clap like this!"
RY X - Berlin "The Natashas' find (both of them*). Just listen to it. He's a genius and will be Latitude's find I think." *Natasha Haddad, Latitude Festival's Music Programmer & Natasha Bent, The Agency Group
Dizraeli And The Small Gods - Never Mind "It just makes me happy when I listen. The video is brilliant. The Poetry Arena will buzz when he is on."
Billy Bragg - Handyman Blues "Sir Billy Of Barking. He should be taught at schools and I love this new song. Thank you Billy!
Hall And Oates - She's Gone "A very pure guilty pleasure."
The Black Keys - Lonely Boy "Fantastic band. Fantastic song. It's a song that is made to be enjoyed in a field in Suffolk with all your friends!"
