It's no secret that the life of an active and touring musician takes its toll, both emotionally and physically. Fyfe Dangerfield is no stranger to that sensation either, being the founding member of alt-indie band Guillemots and a solo artist in his own right, the stresses and tribulations of the gigging life are all too familiar. And when he's not travelling from continent to continent in the space of an afternoon, he can occasionally be found creating special songs about super injunctions with help from Q's readers. A lot to be weary about, we're sure you'll agree, so here's his Playlist that will help rest weary heads.

Frank Sinatra - Send in the Clowns "I think the idea of perfect music perhaps doesn't exist, as perfection in music is really a kind of imperfection. But still, as perfection goes, this is a pretty incredible match of a flawless song, vocal and arrangement."

Nick Cave - Into My Arms "This song means a lot to me personally. I think it's as much a hymn as anything I ever heard in church as a boy."

Dusty Springfield - Goin' Back "Bitter sweet melancholy meets resilience. I love Dusty Springfield's voice."

Chico Buarque - Roda - Viva "Magrao from Guillemots got me into Chico Buarque last year. This melody is really haunting, I love it."

Jeff Buckley - Corpus Christi Carol "I've never heard anything quite like this. The combination his voice and the guitar and this old song written with a traditional classicism. I think Benjamin Britten, the composer, will be very happy with it wherever he's floating around now."

Thomas Feiner & Anywhen - For Now "The lyric in this song is so moving. Mr Feiner's one of my favourite singers around at the moment."

Roberta Flack - The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face "I just imagine being in the studio when she did this take. I mean, just wow, really. That's singing, innit?"

Air - You Make It Easy "I think Moon Safari has aged amazingly well. It's always so gentle and gorgeous to listen to but just has this enchanted atmosphere, like drifting off to sleep and stepping into paradise gardens..."

Simon & Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water "I guess it would be pretty fair to say this is one of the best songs ever written. I can't really imagine the world without it."

Ennio Morricone - The Mission (from the Mission Soundtrack) "If you're in need of a cry, this one will probably do it."
