Festival Playlist – Kent's LeeFest 2016 by Lee himself...

liannelahavasTen years ago Lee Denny staged a 'festival' in his back garden. This month (28-30 July) he'll be at Kent's John Darlings Farm for the 10th year of LeeFest. He's made Q a playlist of his personal picks to guide you through this year's bill.

Everything Everything – No Reptiles "This track is the most phenomenal journey and ends with you feeling ready to take over the world. I saw them play it live in williams green at glasto last year to a tiny packed tent and it was one of the best musical moneys of my life. We’ve decided to recreate it with them in a tiny tent at LeeFest this year!"

Roots Manuva – Don’t Breath Out "His recent album is an incredible artistic progression from an extremely well established artist. Not many artists are willing to take the risks that he did and it’s definitely payed off. One of the best albums of 2015 and an astounding live performer, this will be one of the stand out party sets of the festival."

Little Simz – Full Or Empty "Kendrick Lamar casually tipped Simz as the best new rapper in the game. Simz has exploded in America and we’re extremely lucky to have one of her only UK shows this summer at LeeFest. The live show is a tour de force and will convert anyone who’s not already a fan."

Clean Cut Kid – Jean "The opening lyrics to this song sum up Clean Cut Kids ability to grab you by the insides and make you feel. Probably my favourite new band of the moment, these guys are going to go on to be huge stars and we’re stoked that people can discover them at LeeFest first."

Beaty Heart – Flora "Their tropical, beat driven sound, is the sort that really kicks things off at festivals. On top of that they are local boys and having an album launch party at the festival which always makes for an amazing party – and costs us plenty in riders!"

Seramic – Found "This track from the highly secretive new project of a well known artist is seminal. I can’t say much more about who’s behind it but we’re lucky to be one of the first UK shows and it’s going to go down in LeeFest history."

Loyle Carner – Ain't Nothing Changed "Loyle has such an amazingly unique style. His seamless flow atop jazzy hip hop beats is a wonder to behold, the vulnerabilities in voice build a connection from the stage I haven’t experienced before. Definitely a show to leave you thinking."

Spring King – Rectifier "The album has had a lot of hype and their live shows are suitably noisy and energetic. It’s going to be a sweaty, packed, loud tent for these guys!"

The 2 Bears – Be Strong "There couldn’t be an artist that better embodied the LeeFest spirit of having one hell of an unpretentious party. Put this on, turn it up, and then imagine you’re on an artificial beach arena with 1000 other wonderful people at 2am, glitter raining down on the masses and you probably can’t help but smile!"

Lianne La Havas – What You Don’t Do (pictured) "Probably the most majestic artist we’ve ever booked. It’s the perfect way to end 3 days of mad partying; in awe of her incredible soulful sound, surrounded by loved ones in the beautiful countryside under the stars."
