The Isle Of Wight Festival returns to Seaclose Park this summer (11-14 June) boasting headliners Blur, The Black Keys, The Prodigy and Fleetwood Mac (making their only UK festival appearance). Founder and organisers John Giddings picks some of his personal favourite from the bill.
The Black Keys – Gold On The Ceiling "Rock'N'Roll is alive and well in these lads – you can’t stand still to them…"
The Prodigy – Smack My Bitch Up "I love this track as it reminds me of when they played the Isle Of Wight Festival in 2009 and the whole audience erupted. It is an amazing feeling to watch people having a great time, that is why I do this!"
Pharrell Williams/ N.E.R.D – Lap Dance "I have been Pharrell's agent for over 15 years and remember him playing this opening for David Bowie in Switzerland – a star was born…"
Paolo Nutini – Iron Sky "An Isle of Wight Festival favourite and can't wait until he is back on the main stage as special guest to Fleetwood Mac."
Fleetwood Mac – Go Your Own Way "It has taken me 10 years to get Fleetwood Mac and I still can't quite believe it. The Kings of Leon actually recommended the festival to them as they know the island. The heritage that surrounds the Festival is truly amazing with The Doors and Hendrix and Fleetwood Mac thought it was the right fit. The Isle Of Wight Festival is their only Festival appearance in the UK this year."
First Aid Kit – EmmyLou "So much great music has come out of Sweden, but this tops it all."
James – Getting Away with it "This song really gets to me, it builds and builds, and is incredibly emotional."
Kool & The Gang – Celebration "Real classic and feel good song to get everyone in the festival spirit."
Kodaline – High Hopes "Band I have loved for ages. This is such a beautiful love song and one that I listen to over and over."
Jess Glynne on Clean Bandit's – Rather Be With "Anthem of last year and it was great when Clean Bandit played it for us."
