AIMEE MANN

Biography

Having found US chart success in the 80s with Boston- based new-wavers ’Til Tuesday (and adding vocals to Rush’s Time Stand Still single), Mann went solo when the band split in 1989. However, legal wranglings prevented her releasing any material until 1993. Her new direction, more introspective and folk-infl uenced yet still with a knack for a brilliantly catchy tune, failed to sell many records, although she wasn’t helped by her record company going out of business just as her second album was due out. She is still releasing records on her own label.
