HARRY NILSSON

Biography

Harry Nilsson was one of the most talented singer-songwriters of the late '60s/early '70s. But despite the patronage of The Beatles (Nilsson was John Lennon's accomplice in the latter's infamous year-long "lost weekend"), he was unable to build on his early successes, which included two Grammys. This was in part due to a maverick tendency to radically alter his musical course at every opportunity; partly a result of his hell-raising lifestyle. He died, almost penniless after his financial adviser had embezzled all his money, in 1994 of heart failure.
