THE WALKMEN

Biography

Formed from the ashes of cult New York band Jonathan Fire*Eater, The Walkmen have released four albums since 2002 (including a song-by-song cover of Harry Nilsson and John Lennonls Pussy Cats album) to glowing reviews, but little in the way of sales. Adding piano and increased subtlety to Jonathan Fire*Eater's raw and rudimentary garage sound has resulted in a quintessentially New York feel, with echoes of Television and The Velvet Underground.
