Just when The Wirral’s finest were in danger of taking their serious rock credentials a little too seriously, they released a sparkling album that captured people’s imaginations. Recorded in Noel Gallagher’s studio and shored up by an Arctic Monkeys support at Old Trafford, Roots & Echoes took on a life of its own, with newly-FM-friendly single Who’s Gonna Find Me nailing itself to playlists at Radios 1 and 2. Five albums in, The Coral had arrived all over again.
The best album 2007. Period.
